Answer:

Ans is -Monday 10:40pm

Explanation:

First thing that you need to ascertain is, the longitude which you are calculating is westwards or eastwards from the first Meridian i.e. longitude 0°.

Every 15 degrees of longitude equals 1 hour. So, if you are standing at 0 degrees longitude and you move or travel 15 degrees east or west, you'll notice a difference of 1 hour. This 1 hour difference is negative or positive, can be determined by the direction in which you have traveled i.e westwards or eastwards of the Meridian longitude.

If you traveled west then subtract 4 minutes every 1 degree from the mean time and vice versa.

For given problem…Time at 170° west longitude is monday 12AM

Then we can calculate time at 0° or prime meridian and it will be calculated by adding 11hrs and 20min {170/15 hrs or 170× 4 min } in given time at 170°

So time at 0° is 11:20 am on Monday

Now we have to calcuted time at 170° eastward and it will be calculated by adding another 11hrs 20 min in time at 0° meridian .

So time at 170° east longitude is 10:40pm on Monday.
