Q3. Give one example each of-
a) Thermal decomposition reaction.
b) Electrolytic decomposition reaction
c) Photo decomposition reaction.
Answers
Answer:
Decomposition reactions: Reactions in which a single reactant dissociates into more than one substance are called decomposition reactions.
Thermal decomposition reaction: A type of reaction in which takes place under the influence of heat is called thermal decomposition reaction.
Photo decomposition reaction: Decomposition reaction which takes place under the influence of sunlight or light is called Photo decomposition reaction.
Electrolysis Reaction: Decomposition reaction which takes place under the influence of electricity is called electrolysis reaction.
(Examples in the attachment, please check).
a). Thermal Decomposition Reaction => Thermolysis is the chemical reactions in which a single substance or compound is broken down into two or more substance in the presence of heat. Like :- AB (heat) -> A + B.
b). Electrolytic Decomposition reaction => This is a type of chemical reaction in which salt is broken down in the presence of electricity. When it breaks down then it deposits on anode or cathode. Then Cathode becomes thick and anode becomes thin and vice - versa. Like :- AB (electricity) -> A + B.
c). Photo Decomposition reaction => This is the chemical reactions which takes place in the presence of photon or Sunlight. In this reaction light acts as a Catalyst. Like :- AB (light) -> A + B.
