Report on Renovation issues submitted by Sunil Kaushik, Administrator, Gyan Jyoti Institute

Subject: Matter for the Management Committee regarding Renovation/restructure work of Institute.

Background of the report :

Staff/Students met with administrator, Gyan Jyoti Institute to discuss renovation plans required to be taken up on immediate basis in the Institute as the existing facilities are very old. The following includes suggestions/considerations and is being presented to management committee for input, amendment and further direction. Submitted to Management committee for final orders/approval.

Inputs by Staff/Association -

• The entrance gate in front of the Institute is very old and small in size and it results in rush in the full academic sessions.

• At present, office clerks are sitting in an old hall which is in very pity condition and there is no privacy for the concerned staff.

• Presently, there is no dedicated arrangement in the institute for office supplies, photocopying, fax etc.

• The roof of the Block –A of the institute, where the students perform their practical jobs, that is giving leakage problem since a long and creates so much problem during rainy season.

• The furniture of Science block of the Institute is very old and is almost 20 years old and needs immediate replacement as many student associations has already represented this matter during different management meetings.

• The outer tiles of the Director’s chamber wall are totally broken and needs immediate replacement.

• The existing cafeteria is having very little space and many times it has been observed that it becomes very difficult to accommodate even 20-25 persons at one go.

Process Suggestions for resolving renovation issues:

 A much larger entrance way that serves the "gatekeeper" position well with perhaps room for a couple of visitor chairs and room for two people to work without tripping over each other

 Separate rooms for the office staff is required to be provisioned near reception dias and proper doors should be placed for their individual privacy.

 A proper cabin has to be made for jobs like office supplies, photocopying and fax.

 The roof of the Block-A can be got repaired by placing alluminium sheets or we can repair that by cementing the upper surface.

 Old furniture may be replaced with new or modified furniture and if possible, we can equip our class rooms and halls with iron/aluminum furniture which have long durability.

 This can be done either by replacement tiles or by taking off all tiles and getting the walls painted.

 For this, we can extend the walls of existing cafeteria to 5-10 feets from each side as the space is available for this extention. This will definitely increase the sitting space in the cafeteria.

Management committee please see for approval/orders.

Explanation:

Dear student,

INFRASTRUCTURE NEED TO BE RESTRUCTURED AND REVAMPED

- Mr. Sunil Kaushik, Administrator.

This year we have built two new buildings and we need some new materials. We have a new auditorium in the main building which can accommodate 1200 people. We need 10 wooden chairs for the guests who come for the functions and a table. We need curtains for the stage. Three people should be appointed for maintaining the auditorium. Tables and chairs are required for the classrooms. Many of the chairs in the old building are also damaged. So, we need 500 tables and 600 chairs. The lobby of the new building needs sofas for the guests that come to our institution. Five sofas are required.

The cafeteria has been renovated and we need 50 saucers, 60 plates, 10 trays, and 70 glasses. We also need 20,1260 square inches dining table and 80 chairs. Also, a white board for writing down the menu. We need soaps and brooms. As of now these are the requirements.

Hope this would be helpful to you
