Q30) an object is placed in a distance of 10 cm from a convex mirror of focal length 15 cm .Find the position and nature of the image.​

Here, As given in our question,

=Distance of object from the mirror(U)=10cm

=Focal length of the mirror(f)=15cm

Distance of image from the mirror(V)=?

As it considered, 1/U+1/V=1/f

=1/V=1/f-1/U

=1/V=1/15-1/10

=1/V=(2-3)/30 (After taking Lcm and solving it)

=1/V=(-1)/30)

On doing reciprocal of both, we get,

=V=(-30)

=V=30cm

So, the position of the image is 30cm in front of the mirror.

Now, To find out the nature of the image, we have to calculate out the magnification,

Magnification(M)=(-V)/U

=M=30/10 (As -30 gets multiplied with -V, it becomes +30)

=M=3

Here, the magnification is positive(+3), the image is Virtual and Erect.
