Homeostasis is a process in an organism by which a stable internal environment is maintained. The nervous system comprises of the central nervous system and the peripheral nervous system. The nervous system’s control in the hypothalamus within the brain aids in the human body in maintaining homeostasis. This affects the autonomic nervous system, responsible for controlling the activity of all other organs in the human body, and the pituitary gland, the control centre of all other glands in the endocrinal system. Like the nervous system and in sync with it, the pituitary gland gets into the act by regulating the metabolism to adjust to the increase in the environmental temperature in achieving homeostasis.
