A major fire broke out in
slum cluster in Seelampuri’s on Monday afternoon. Close to two dozen hutments and about 15 godown used to store plastics and other material were gutted in the fire. Though no causality has been reported, it took nine fire tenders to douse the flame.
“At around 1.45 pm we received a call that a fire has broken out in a slum cluster in Seelampuri area and we dispatched four fire tenders to the spot,” said Sunil Kumar Singh, chief fire officer. “But due to windy condition it became difficult to control the fire and we sought one fire tender from Noida and another from Bhushan Steel and a total of nine fire tenders were pressed into service which brought the blaze under control after about two hours,” added Singh.
