then,let

breadth=x

Length is 2 more than twice the breadth

length=2x+2

substituting the values accordingly

2(2x+2+x)=40

2(3x+2)=40

6x+4=40

6x=40-4=36

x=36÷6

x=6

Therefore the sides are

breadth=x=6

length=2x+2=2×6+2=12+2=14
