Answer:

To Find:- sides and area

Solution:-

we know

Perimeter of a rectangle= 2(l+b)

here,both values are unknown

then,let

breadth=x

Length is 2 more than twice the breadth

length=2x+2

substituting the values accordingly

2(2x+2+x)=40

2(3x+2)=40

6x+4=40

6x=40-4=36

x=36÷6

x=6

Therefore the sides are

breadth=x=6

length=2x+2=2×6+2=12+2=14

Let's check whether it's correct or not

2(2x+2+x)=40

2(14+6)=40

2×20=40

40=40

L.H.S=R.H.S

hence verified

Now To Find Area

we know

Area of a rectangle= l×b

that is

Area= 14×6

Area= 84cm²

Hope it helps
