Q6. If you mix red color with green, you would observe
a reddish-brown color. Similarly, in colored leaves a
red substance named anthocyanin is present with
chlorophyll. Do you think the given leaf will perform

Answer:

it will perform photosynthesis at a lower rate.

Explanation:

anthocyanin is not directly involved in photosynthesis. At low light levels green pigment (chlorophyll) is the best but if it is sunny than even red plants( containing anthocyanin) can survive easily. The red anthocyanins apparently prevent damage to leaves from intense light energy by absorbing ultraviolet light.

hope this helps.
