Dear Amit,

◆ Answer -

V = 240 L

● Explaination -

Let x be efficiency of pipe a. Then efficiency of pipe b would be 1.5x.

As pipe a fills cistern at 6 L/min, pipe b will fill that at 6×1.5 = 9L/min.

Both pipes are working for 18 minutes, thus total capacity of cistern will be -

V = 18 × (6 + 9)

V = 18 × 15

V = 240 L

Therefore, capacity of the cistern is 240 L.

Thanks for asking..

Answer:

A = 6 *18 = 108

B is 50% more efficient

So

B = 6*18 + 3*18 =162

Total = 108 + 162 = 270
