mbti is the myers-briggs type indicator, and it focuses on four traits:

introversion vs. extroversion
(whether someone is more focused on their inner world or external world)

intuition vs. sensing
(whether someone makes connections between things and sees different ways things could be, or focuses only on how things actually are)

thinking vs. feeling
(whether someone acts based on their thoughts or emotions)

judging vs. percieving
(whether someone likes things to be organized and scheduled, or in creative chaos and freedom)

there are in total 16 combinations of these traits, each trait represented by its first letter (ENTP, INTJ, ESTP, INTP,etc.), and this helps understand the nature of a person, how they react to different kinds of things, and strengths and weaknesses they are prone to (if you want you can take the test on the website16personalities.com )

big five, on the other hand, measures the amount of 5 traits present in a person: neuroticism, agreeableness, extraversion, openness, and conscientiousness

-this helps understand the extent of these traits in people, and how they may interact with others, and how they can improve upon their weak points
