burning coal is kept to keep themselves warm. but it is advised to keep the door because coal releases CO2 and other harmful gases which can prove fatal. door should be opened for easy ventilation

Because When we we burn coal it release carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide which is very harmful for us.So when we keep the door open the gases which are released is not so much has harmful at that time because it have a space to go out or expand in atmosphere.
