When keft in hypertonic solution the cell shrinks due to the movement of water from high concentration to low conc. When keft in hypotonic solution the cell swells and when keft in isotonic solution the cell remains same

Plant or animal cell in each type of solution:

If we keep a plant cell or animal cell in a hypotonic solution then the cell will be shrinking because the fluid goes from the high concentration to the low concentration.

If we keep a plant cell or animal cell in a hypertonic solution then the cell become swell because the fluid goes from the outside to the inside the cell as in the cell there is low concentration is present.

If we keep the cell in the isotonic solution then the cell remains same as the pressure is same in the both inner and outer environment of the cell.
