EXPLANATION.

→ Let the numerator of a faction be x.

→ Let the denominator of a fraction be y.

The denominator of a fraction is one more

than two twice it's numerator.

→ y = 2x + 1

→ y - 2x = 1 .......(1)

→ If 1 is added to numerator and denominator.

→ Numerator = x + 1

→ Denominator = y + 1

→ The ratio of numerator and denominator

is 1/2.

→ x + 1 / y + 1 = 1/2

→ 2 ( x + 1 ) = y + 1

→ 2x + 2 = y + 1

→ 2x - y = -1 ........(2)

→ From equation (1) and (2) we get,

→ only x = 4 and y = 9 satisfied the condition.

→ 2(4) - 9 = -1

→ 8 - 9 = -1

→ -1 = -1

Fraction become = 4/9.
