Answer:

x = 2/11 , 2/13

Solution:

Here,

The given equation is :

4•[(7x - 1)/x]² - 8•[(7x - 1)/x] + 3 = 0

Substituting (7x - 1)/x = y in the given equation, it will be reduced to a simple quadratic equation.

Thus,

=> 4y² - 8y + 3 = 0

=> 4y² - 6y - 2y + 3 = 0

=> 2y(2y - 3) - (2y - 3) = 0

=> (2y - 3)(2y - 1) = 0

=> 2y = 3 or 2y = 1

=> y = 3/2 or y = 1/2

Case (1) : y = 3/2

=> y = 3/2

=> (7x - 1)/x = 3/2

=> 2(7x - 1) = 3x

=> 14x - 2 = 3x

=> 14x - 3x = 2

=> 11x = 2

=> x = 2/11

Case(2) : y = 1/2

=> y = 1/2

=> (7x - 1)/x = 1/2

=> 2(7x - 1) = x

=> 14x - 2 = x

=> 14x - x = 2

=> 13x = 2

=> x = 2/13

Hence,

x = 2/11 , 2/13
