The following extract has been taken from the chapter Being Neighbourly which is a chapter in the novel Little Women written by Louisa Mary Alcott.

EXPLANATION:

1) The first statement is true because it was when Meg was reading the novel that Joe was left alone.

She decides that she would go to dig paths and to remove the snow from there. It is then that she saw Laurie sitting near the window and he looked very lonely.

She threw a snowball to get his attention and he requests her to come to see him. Laurie was a rich boy whose parents were dead and he lived with his grandfather Mr. Laurence.

Accordingly, the statement 2) would also be true.

The mansion was owned by Mr. Laurence where he lived with his grandson Lauren, therefore the statement 3) would be false.

And statement 4) would be true.
