Que.32 If sinA=3/4, calculate cosA and tanA.


maheshkd: the value of sin may be given as 3/5 . perhaps u might have wrote mistaken there. But alright this is the way to have values of trigonometric ratios.

sine is the ratio of perpendicular to hypotenuse.
Means 3 is perpendicular and then hypotenuse is 4 as given.

So calculate Base from pythogoras theorem.
and base to hypotenuse ratio is cosine only.

Now take ratio of sine to cosine ,that is tan.


Alternatively
follow Identity

( sin(x) )^2 + ( cos(x) )^2 = 1

then (cos(x))^2 = 1 - (sin(x))^2

so cos = √[ 1 - (sin(x))^2 ]

put x as 3/4. and get cosine.

Take ratio of sine to cosine that will be the tangent
