Give that :-

x =  \frac{3}{4} \\  \\ y =  \frac{12}{21} =  \frac{4}{7} \\  \\  \\ z =  \frac{4}{7}

Now,

(x - y) - z \\  \\  = ( \frac{3}{4} -  \frac{4}{7}) -  \frac{4}{7} \\  \\  \\  =  \frac{5}{28} - \frac{4}{7} \\  \\  \\ =  \frac{5 - 16}{28} =  \frac{( - 11)}{28}

Now, second option :-

x - (y -z) \\  \\  \\  =  \frac{4}{3} - ( \frac{4}{7} -  \frac{4}{7)} \\  \\  \\ =  \frac{4}{3} - 0 \\  \\  \\  \\ =  \frac{4}{3}

On comparing both the values :

We find that :-

(x-y) - z≠x-(y-z)

Hence,

Proved!
