Ques. A jet plane is traveling towards West at 450m/sec. If the horizontal component of the earth magnetic field at that place is 4 × 10⁻⁹ Tesla and angle of the dip is 30°. Find the Emf induced between the ends of wings having span of 30m.

wingspan l = 30 m.

mag. Field B = 4 × 10-4 T

angle of dip α = 30∙

✔️therefore vertical component Bv = B sin α

= 4 × 10-4 × sin 30∙

Bv = 2 × 10-4 T

⭐Motional EMF ε = Bv l v

= 2 × 10-4 × 30 × 450

= 27000 × 10-4

ε = 2.7 Volts
