 ⇒    ΔRMP similar ΔQPR     .......(2) (AA similarity)

From (1) and (2) we get

                   ΔQMP similar ΔPMR

Therefore, 

             The corresponding sides are proportional 

                                    QM/PM = PM/RM

 ⇒              QM.RM = PM. PM          (BY CROSS-MULTIPLICATION) 

 ⇒               PM² = QM.RM
