let m_1 be the slope of the line joining points A and B .

therefore m_1=1/3

let the slope of perpendicular bisector be m_2 then m_1×m_2=-1

so m_2=-3

also the line passes through midpoint of line segment AB which is (5/2,11/2)

the equation of perpendicular bisector is

(y-11/2)=-3(x-5/2)

the perpendicular bisector will meet y axis at the point where x=0

so perpendicular bisector meets at y=15/2+11/2=13

seenvasreddy: can any one tell me how to calculate slope for this sum what is the formula involved here
