Here are a few concepts you need to understand regarding open curves and closed curves:

Curves are any drawings of shapes such as circles, triangles and zig-zag lines.

In mathematics, an open curve is any drawing where the start point and the end point are different. These can of drawings do not completely enclose an area.

On the other hand,  a closed curve represents a drawing where there are no start points or end points - one cannot identify them. These shapes completely encloses a given area.

Types of curves:

Simple ,open & closed curve 

Simple Curves: Curves that do not intersect themselves are called simple curves.

Open Curves: Curves whose end points do not meet are called open curves.

Closed curves: Curves whose end points join to enclose an area are called closed curves.
