Animal husbandry : It is the branch of agricultural concerned with animals in which it gives the practice of breeding and raising livestock that are useful to humans.

→ The role of animal husbandry in human welfare are as :

(i) Increase in human population, increases the demand for human foods from animals and animals product like milk, egg, meat, wool, silk, e.t.c.

(ii) Increase in demand in the production of honey, increased the growth in the practice of  bee - keeping.

(iii) Increase in demand of fish and fish products, a large number of people depend of fish and fish products as food.

Animal Husbandry is the practice of managing livestock with the help of scientific methods. They include the rearing of animals for various purposes in human life.

Some of the uses and roles that Animal Husbandry play are:

1. Animals like Cattle are used for producing milk and also for various purposes in fields.
2. Animals like fishes are used for meat along with commercial purposes like aquarium, etc.

Animal Husbandry therefore is both useful for Commercial as well as for Non-commercial purposes in a person's life. Hence they must be cultivated and controlled well.
