Correct Question:-

Find the zeroes of the following quadratic polynomials and verify the relationship

between the zeroes and the coefficients.

  • → {x}^{2}  - 2x - 8
  • →4 {s}^{2}  - 4s + 1
  • →6 {x}^{2}  - 7x - 3

Answer:-

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Step by step explanation:-

(i)

 {x}^{2}  - 2x - 8

Ans:-

First find zeros by spelling the middle term

→ {x}^{2}  - 2x - 8 \\  \\ → {x}^{2}  - (4 - 2)x - 8 \\  \\ →x(x - 4) + 2(x - 4) \\  \\ →(x - 4)(x + 2)

So, zeros are

x = 4 -  -  -  -  \alpha

x =  - 2 -  -  -  -  -  \beta

Verification of relationship

________________________________

Formula used :-

Sum =

 \alpha  +  \beta  =  \frac{cofficient \: of \: x}{cofficint \: of \:  {x}^{2} }

Product =

 \alpha   \beta  =  \frac{constant \: term}{cofficient \: of \:  {x}^{2} }

Now let the equation be

a {x}^{2}  + b x  + c

So,
