Answer:

The amount of current which makes the heater element very hot but the connecting wires slight warmer is because of the high resistance of heater element.

The amount of hotness the passing current will produce, depends on the resistance of the conductor and also on the time.

Since the resistance in connecting wire is much less than the heater element, it gets slightly warm.
