Outcomes= 1,2,3,4,5,6
Prime no.s=2,3,5
Not a prime no.= 1,4,6
P=probability
Formula: p(event) = favourable no.of outcomes/total no.of outcomes

Q2 solutions
1) P(prime no)=3/6=1/2
2) P(non-prime no ) = 3/6=1/2
3) P(no. greater than 5) = 1/6
4) P(no.not greater than 5) = 5/6

Event:

A Possible outcome or combination of outcomes is called event.

==========================================================

Solution:

(i) Outcomes of event of getting a prime number are 2, 3, 5

Hence, these are the outcomes of an event of getting a prime number (2,3,5)

(ii) Outcomes of event of not getting a prime number are 1, 4 and 6.

Hence, these are the outcomes of an event of not getting a prime number (1,4,6)

(b)

(i) Outcomes of event of getting a number greater than 5 is 6, which comes on the face of the dice.

Hence, these are the outcomes of an event of getting a number greater than 5 is 6,

(ii) Outcomes of event of not getting a number greater than 5 are 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5

Hence, these are the outcomes of an event of not getting a number greater than 5 are 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5
