The Part of a polynomial separated by + or - sign is called a term of the polynomial. Each Term of a polynomial has a Coefficient, which is the constant associated with the term.

 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Solution:

i)    2+x²+x

The coefficient of x²  in 2+x²+x is 1.

ii)    2- x²+x³

The coefficient of x² in

 2- x²+x³ is -1.

iii)        (π/2)x² + x

The coefficient of x² in (π/2)x² + x is π/2.

iv)  √2x -1

The coefficient of x² in √2x -1 is  0.

Hi !

Coefficient is the no: which comes before a term of the polynomial.

(i)
2+x²+x

The coefficient of x²  is 1.

ii)    2- x²+x³

The coefficient of x²  is -1.

 (iii)        (π/2)x² + x

The coefficient of x² in  π/2.

 (iv)  √2x -1

The coefficient of x²  is  0.
