Answer:

1/4

Step-by-step explanation:

It is given that -5 is one of the zeroes of 2x² + px - 15

⇒ p(-5) = 0

∴  p(x² + x) + k when x = -5 will be 0

∴  p(-5)² + p(-5) + k = 0

∴ 25p - 5p + k = 0

Now it is given that the roots of the given equation are equal

⇒ D = b² - 4ac = 0

⇒ (-5)² - 4 (25) (k) = 0

∴  25 - 100k = 0

∴  100k = 25

∴  k = 1/4

Hope this helps!

-5 is the zero of 2x^2 +px-15 then
50-5p-15=0
P=7
Therefore 7 x^2 +7x+k has equal zeros
B^2 =4AC
49=4*7*k
k =7/4
