a)
area \: of \: tringe \: abc = \sqrt{s(s - a)(s - b)(s - c) } \\ \\
by using heron's formula
s=(a+b+c)/2
a=15 b=15 c=17
s=(15+15+17)/2
s=47/2
s-a=47/2-15=17/2
s-b=17/2
s-c=47/2-17=13/2
putting all these value

area of ABC =✓{47(17)(17)(13)}/2
=1772.4cm²

Area of triangle BDC=1/2*15*17=127.5cm²

area of shaded portion=1772.4-127.5=1644.9cm² (approx)

b)draw a line L parallel to AB and CD passing through E

then angle BAE+AEL=180
AEL=180-108
AEL=72°

AND

ANGLE CEL+ECD=180
CEL=180-112
CEL=68°

x=AEL +CEL
x=72+68
x=140°
