Thank you for asking this question. Let me answer one by one:

1. The Author noted that the Baudhnath Shrine has a huge white dome on the top and is surrounded by small shops where everything from silver jewelry, bags, Tibetan prints and other small things can be bought. However, he noted now the area was not very busy.
On the other hand,
Pashupathinath, is a smaller shrine which is located near a river and is part of legend about a Goddess. He also noted the the shrine was only open for Hindus. This was a very crowded area.

2. Katmandu's old streets are narrow and busy with numerous fruit sellers, shops, hawkers, selling everything from cosmetics to chocolates, fill rolls. Stray cows roam around freely has loud music can be heard around.

3. This is because the Author believe that flue music is the most beautiful and most universal music
