a) Amanda is not looking at the speaker(her mother) because she doesn't like her for being so much strict to her. She is also avoiding her and is lost in her own thoughts.

b) Eat

c) The speaker (Amanda's mom) is worried about her acne. This shows that her mother is strict but she cared about her daughter and is worried about her. This also tells us that chocolate can cause acne to u.

(a) Amanda is not looking at the speaker (who is her mother) because Amanda is completely disinterested in what her mother has to say.

She is tired of her instructions and does not want to hear any more of them.

(b) ‘Eat’ means the same as ‘consume’.

(c) It shows that the speaker, Amanda’s mother is concerned about Amanda’s acne and cares for her.  It also shows that Amanda is a teenager, since acne-related problems are common teenage issues.

(d) ‘To gaze’ means to ‘look’ at someone or something for a considerable period of time.
