Graphs are visual representations of data collected. In most cases, the data exists in the form of a table. In many cases, the table itself is displayed.
There are
many different types of graphs.
a.Bar graph.
b.Pie graph or pie chart.
c.Line graph.
A linear graph is different from a line graph, in a linear graph, the rest of points on the graph line up in an orderly manner. A linear graph is a graph that consists of a single straight line segment graph obtained by joining the plotted points is a line. Such graphs are called linear graphs.
Graphical representation of data makes it easier to understand the data.
(i) A bar graph is used to show comparison among categories. It may
consist of two or more parallel vertical (or horizontal) bars (rectangles).
(ii) A pie graph is used to compare parts of a whole.
(iii) A histogram is a bar graph that shows data in intervals.
A line graph displays data that changes continuously over period of time. A line graph which is a whole unbroken line is called a linear graph. To draw such a line we need to locate some points on the graph sheet
For fixing a point on the graph sheet we need, x-coordinate and y-coordinate. The horizontal line (usually called the x-axis) the vertical line (usually called the y-axis)
