Sexual reproduction :-
1) Involves two Parents.
2) Gametes are produced.
3) Progeny are genetically different from Parents.
4) Variation are produced.
5)Meiosis and mitosis both takes place.
Asexual reproduction :-
1) Involves one Parent is involved.
2) Gametes are not produced.
3) Progeny are genetically similar to parents.
4) Variation are not produced.
5) Only mitosis takes place.
And just because in vegetative propagation stem, leaf. etc give rise to new plant without the involvement of two parents it's considered as asexual reproduction.
Thanks!
