Equations with linear expressions in one variable only are known as linear equations in one variable.
An algebraic equation is an equality involving variables. It has an equality sign(=). The expression on the left of the equality sign is the Left Hand Side (LHS). The expression on the right of the equality sign is the Right Hand Side (RHS).

Solution:
Let the length and breadth of the rectangular plot will be 11x m and 4x m .
Perimeter of the plot = 2(length + breadth)
= [2(11x + 4x)]m =2 x 15x = 30x
Perimeter of the plot = 30x m
The cost of fencing the plot @ Rs 100 per metre is Rs 75,000. (Given)
100 x 30x = 75,000
3000 x = 75,000
x= 75000/3000 = 75/3
X =25
Length of the plot = 11x m = (11×25)m = 275 m
Breadth of the plot= 4x m = (4×25)m = 100 m
Hence, the dimension of the plot are 275 m 100 m .
