John and Thandi have been married for four years. Before her marriage Thandi was a secretary but
she gave up her work because John does not want his wife to work. Every week John gives a
certain amount of housekeeping money to Thandi and she has to show John the slips to prove how
she has spent the money.
Once she lost the slip and John was very angry and he gave Thandi a black eye. The couple has
an 18 month old child name Rose who was named after John's grandmother. Thandi loves her
daughter but is upset because John will not let her leave Rose with her mother for some momings
John says only his mother can look after Rose because he knows that his mother will teach their
daughter the right values. John will also not allow Thandi to get a driver's licence.
