There are mainly 5 types of sentences:-
- Declarative
- Interrogative
- Imperative
- Exclamatory
- Optative

→ Declarative:- These are used to make statements which could be positive or negative. A positive statement represents an affirmative sentence while a negative statement represents a negative sentence.
Examples:-
- It is surprisingly cold today. (affirmative-declarative)
- There is no scope for charging the plane any more. (negative-declarative)

→ Interrogative:- These are used to ask questions. An interrogative sentence is formed by putting the auxiliary verb before the subject and often begins a sentence with what, who, how, etc. It ends with a question mark '?'. These sentences can be positive or negative.
Examples:-
- Are we allowed to take pictures inside the museum?
- Don't you want to participate in the debate?

→ Imperative:- These are used to express requests, commands, advice or suggestions. They can be positive or negative.
Examples:-
- Don't walk on the grass.
- Please close the door when you go out.

→ Exclamatory:- These are used to express a sudden strong feelings such as anger, joy, surprise, joy, etc. They end with an exclamation mark '!'.
Examples:-
- You did a great job!
- How perfect that image looks!

- May god bless you both.
- Wish you a happy journey!
