Question: Imagine you are an elected official with the responsibility of drafting legislation designed to protect our environment. What items will you include in your bill? Who will be responsible for the bill's implementation? Its enforcement? Answer these questions in a 125-word paragraph.
Answer: My legislation bill would be that recycling and composting is a requirement. It would be free for all people and there would be recycling bins throughout the city. Doing so, will help with the amount of water pollution because some of the things that get thrown away go into the ocean and can be very harmful to aquatic marine life. There would be smart technology on the bins so if you need to throw something away, then you need to hit a button that will tell you if you put it in the right bin or not. There would also be a specific bin for compost such as food scraps. Recycling will help the environment will things such as water pollution and when you recycle things, industries can make new items out of them. Composting is helpful because it adds nutrients to the soil for plants. When the composting bin fills, they would have a truck go and spread it through public gardens, parks, or forests. The recycling would go to a factory to be made into new items that would be helpful humans in their everyday life. This bill would be enforced by the city council and they would be required to send it to the state senate and then there would be legal action for every person that had not recycled at least 30 things a month. This is what I would try and get implemented if I was elected official with the responsibility of helping protect our environment.
I know that this is not a question but I hope whomever needed to know this gets what they need out of it.

If I get elected as an official with the responsibility of drafting legislation, the bills include:

  • Everyone would be able to use it for free, and recycling bins would be located all over the city.
  • By doing this, you can reduce the quantity of water pollution because part of the trash that is thrown out ends up in the ocean, where it can affect aquatic marine life.
  • If you need to toss something away, you can press a button on the bin's smart technology, and it will let you know if you put it in the appropriate bin or not.
  • For compost materials like kitchen scraps, there would also be a dedicated bin.
  • Recycling will benefit the environment by reducing issues like water contamination and allowing businesses to turn used materials into new products.
  • Because it enriches the soil with nutrients for plants, composting is beneficial.
  • They would send a truck to disseminate the compost through public gardens, parks, or forests after the composting bin was full.
  • The recycled materials would be sent to a factory to be turned into brand-new products that would be useful to people in their daily lives.
  • The local council would be responsible for enforcing this law; they would have to submit it to the state senate, and anyone who did not recycle at least 30 items every month would face legal repercussions.
  • If I were an elected politician charged with contributing to the protection of our environment, I would work to have this enacted.
