Given side of square

= 10 cm

So its area

(side) {}^{2}  = 10 {}^{2} \\  = 100cm {}^{2}

Now given radius of the circle = 3.5 cm

So its area =

\pi \: r {}^{2}  \\  =  \frac{22}{7} \times 3.5 \times 3.5 \\  = 22 \times 0.5 \times 3.5 \\  = 11 \times 3.5 \\  = 38.5cm {}^{2}

Now area of shaded region

= Area of square - Area of Circle

=

100 - 38.5 \\  = 61.5cm {}^{2}
