Hi

First of all, we will add the two fractions

3/8+2/3

We will take the LCM of the denominators which will be 24.

So,to make the denominators of the two fractions equal, we will multiply the first fraction by 3 and the second fraction by 8. (Because in the first fraction if we multiply the denominator which is 8 by 3, the product will be 24. Do the same in the second fraction by multiplying the denominator which is 3 by 8 which would result in twenty four)

MAKE SURE THAT YOU MULTIPLY THE DENOMINATOR AS WELL AS THE NUMERATOR BY THE SAME NUMBER

As in the first fraction we multiply the denominator by 3, we will ALSO multiply the numerator  by three which will be 3*3=9

So the fraction will be 9/24

Do the same in the second fraction by multiplying the denominator and numerator by 8

So the second fraction would be 16/24

Now as the denominator is same, we will add the two fractions

9/24+16/24=25/24 will be the sum

Now we will subtract 2/3 from 3/8

Again we take the LCM to make the denominator same

Therefore, 9/24-16/24= -7/24

Now we will subtract the sum of the numbers from the difference

As the Denominator is same we will directly subtract

-7/24-25/24=-32/24 and on simplifying it we will get -4/3

Thanks
