construct AC

using Pythagoras theorem

AC2 = 4 square + 3 square

THEREFORE AC = 5cm = diameter

therefore radius = 5/2 = 2.5cm

area of circle= πr2

=22/7 * 2.5*2.5 = 19.625 cm2

area of rectangle=3*4=12cm2

therefore area of shaded region= 19.625-12

= 7.625 cm2

area of shaded region =area of circle-area of rectangle

in rectangle AC=(16+9)^(1/2)

AC=5

》radius of circle =5/2

area of circle = π×5/2×5/2

=25π/4

area of rectangle = 4×3

= 12

area of shaded region = (25π/4)-12

=(25π-48)/4

=7.63495
