By using law of conservation of momentum,
Final velocity of their combination (v) = (m₁u₁ - m₂u₂) / (m₁ + m₂)
= [(6kg × 3m/s) - (3kg × 2m/s)] / [3kg + 6kg]
= 4/3 m/s

Initial kinetic energy of system = 0.5m₁u₁² + 0.5m₂u₂²
= (0.5 × 3kg × (2 m/s)²) + (0.5 × 6kg × (3 m/s)²)
= 6 J + 27 J
= 33 J

Final kinetic energy of system = 0.5(m₁ + m₂)v²
= 0.5 × (3kg + 6kg) × (4/3 m/s)²
= 8 J

Loss in Kinetic energy = Initial kinetic energy - Final Kinetic energy
= 33 J - 8 J
= 25 J

(1) is the correct option.
