Q1 : Tectonic plates are large geographic plates which form the earth's crust and float over the outer mantle layer of the earth. their movement has resulted in the formation of the 7 global continents namely Asia, Africa, North America, South America, Antarctica, Europe and Australia. the biggest tectonic plates ion the earth are the pacific plate, Eurasian plate, African plate, the Indo-Australian plate, and the two American plate. The most notable effect of the movement tectonic plates in the formation of the Himalayan mountain ranges.

Q2 : Faults are the gaps present between Tectonic plates which enable them to move around and change their position. When the tectonic plates move towards each other, they form mountains and when they move away from each other, they form trenches.

Q3 : Earthquakes are the tremors felt when tectonic plates move. During the formation of mountains and trenches, earthquakes with magnitudes  up to 11 are common. When tectonic plates move against each other in a rubbing-form of motion, earthquakes of less magnitudes are felt.
