18 \times 2 = 36

find \: factors \: of \: 36

2x {}^{2}  - 9x + 18

2x {}^{2}  - 12x  - 3x + 18

(2x - 3)(x - 6)

the \: equation \: equals \: to \: 0

2x - 3 = x - 6

x =  - 3

splitting \: the  \: middle \: term

2x(x - 6) \:   -  3(x - 6)
