Given:

✰ When 6 is added to a number and the sum is multiplied by 8, the result is same as when 26 is multiplied by 10 and 12 is added to the product.

To find:

✠ The number.

Solution:

Let's understand the concept first! First we will assume the number as x. We know that when 6 is added to a number i.e, the sum of number and 6 ( x + 6 ) and the sum is multiplied by 8. So, multiply this sum by 8 ( x + 6 )8, it is equal to 26 is multiplied by 10 ( 26 × 10 ) and is added to the product, sum of this product and 12 ( ( 26 × 10 ) + 12 ). Thus, forming an requisite equation and doing the required calculation, we will find the value of x i.e, the required number.

Let's find out...!

According to the question,

➤ ( 6 + x )8 = ( 26 × 10 ) + 12

➤ 48 + 8x = 260 + 12

➤ 48 + 8x = 272

➤ 8x = 272 - 48

➤ 8x = 224

➤ x = 224/8

➤ x = 28

The required number = 28

Given :

When 6 is added to a number and the sum is multiplied by 8.

The result is same as when 26 is multiplied by 10 and 12 is added to the product.

To find :

Find the Number

Solution :

Let us take the number be y

→ 8 (6 + y) = 12 + (26 × 10)

→ 48 + 8y = 12 + 260

→ 48 + 8y = 272

→ 8y = 272 - 48

→ 8y = 244

→ y = 244/8

y = 28

∴ The required Number is 28
