For long time women were not allowed to vote. It was thought that women were not capable of taking sensible decisions. Women were supposed to stay at home and take care of family. The suffragette movement was the name given to the struggle started by women demanding the right to vote. It gets its name from the word suffrage which means to vote. This movement was started in 1848 in the USA. Women in France struggle for their voting rights and finally won in 1946 similarly women in UK and USA also had to struggle.

As we know that women had not been given respect or any high position in olden days. Because they have been understood that women have no sense to think and can't handle the high position. But now everything is changed. They can do anything like a person. They can be appointed at any position and today, they are being got high position. Women are the beauty of this world. If women will not be present in this world. Nothing can be developed. A famous proverb is that there is a hand of woman behind the success of a man.

\mathcal{\underline{\underline{\pink{The\:Women's\:suffrage\: movement}}}}

  • The women's suffrage movement was one of the defining social movements in the modern world.

  • A precursor to contemporary feminist movements, the suffrage movement insisted on obtaining the right to vote for women.

  • Finally, the movement succeeded in 1920 with the ratification of the 19th Amendment, but this achievement, while unprecedented on paper, still faced many obstacles and disparities in practice.

\mathcal{\underline{\purple{First \:Women's \:Rights \:Convention:-}}}

In 1848, the Seneca Falls Convention brought women together to discuss "social, civil and religious status and women's rights." Many historians consider this the formal beginning of the women's rights movement.

The conference discussed the most famous suffrage movement, but also included discussions on other issues of women's interest.
