Ans

Assuming new partner is = w

his share ration is 1/6 according to the question

old ratio = 2:2:1

x y z

2/5 2/5 1/5

Let the total share of the firm = 1

share of z and w = 1/5 + 1/6

= 6 + 5/30

= 11/30

Remaining share = 1 - 11/30

= 30 - 11/30

= 19/30

divided by x and y in their old ratio (2:2) or (1:1)

{New share = Old share × Remaining share}

x = 1/2 × 19/30

= 19/60

y = 1/2 × 19/30

= 19/60

NEW PROFIT SHARE

X Y Z W

19/60 19/60 1/5 1/6 ANS.
