Complete Question :- Three persons A. B. C are walking along a straight road at the points 11/3, 65/9, 93/20 respectively, then the person who is walking between the other two is ?

(A) A

(B) B

(C) C

(D) None of these

Answer :-

Comparing the points by taking LCM we get,

→ 11/3 , 65/9 , 93/20

→ (11*60, 65*20 , 93*9) /180

→ (660, 1300, 837) / 180

or, we can see that,

  • A is at = (660/180)
  • B is at = (1300/180)
  • C is at = (837/180)
  • B > C > A .
  • A < C < B .

therefore, we can conclude that, Person C is walking between the other two . (Option C) (Ans.)

Solution:

A   at  11/3

B   at  65/9

C   at   93/20

LCM of 3 , 9 and 20  = 180

Lets have common denominator 180 for all

A   at   11/3   = 660/180

B   at  65/9  = 1300/180

C   at  93/20  =  837/180

600 < 837  < 1300  

=> A < C  < B

Hence C is in between A and B

person C is walking between the other two
