A farmer left to his four sons a square piece of land containing four wells - as illustrated in the accompanying drawing . By the terms of his will , each son was to have the same area of land , of the same shape and each piece containing one well .
Can you work out the best way of parcelling out the land to the four sons ?

portion remaining with sons is equal to 1-1/4

=3/4
