Soln:- The height is 6cm longer than the base so height(h)= h+6
The area =108cm
Area of triangle=1/2bh
108 =1/2x(h+6)xh
216= h^2+6h
Factors to
0= h^2+6h-216
0=(h-12) (h+18)
Therefore: h=(-12) and 18
Since we can’t have a negative height of(-12) so h=18cm
Then base(b)= h-6 =18-6=12

EXTRA
Lets check the answer now
Area = 1/2bh
=1/2x12x18
=1/2x216
=108cm CHEck
