Rasipuram Krishnaswami Iyer Narayanaswami (10 October 1906 – 13 May 2001),[1] commonly known as R. K. Narayan, was an Indian writer known for his work set in the fictional South Indian town of Malgudi. He was a leading author of early Indian literature in English along with Mulk Raj Anand and Raja Rao.Narayan won numerous awards during the course of his literary career.The youngest of 13 surviving children, Tagore (nicknamed "Rabi") was born Robindronath Thakur[15] on 7 May 1861 in the Jorasanko mansion in Calcutta,[16] the son of Debendranath Tagore (1817–1905) and Sarada Devi (1830–1875).
