Radha was an intelligent girl. She always had a creative solution to the day to day problems.
One day her mother asked her to go to the shop and get some small flower pots.
When Radha enquired the reason behind the sudden need of the flower pot, her mother explained her about the mischievous rat problem they are having for past few days.
Radha mother said, “Yesterday night a big rat from drainage in the backside of our house anyhow climbed the wall and disturbed all the flower pot we arranged in the balcony.
Those rats ate many of our button roses and little daisy we bought.
Only two or three flowers are remaining undamaged from the entire garden in our balcony”.
Her mother’s sad face bruised Radha’s heart. Radha knew her mother worked so hard for this garden and it is the pride of her uneducated mother.
Her mother went on and said, “So go and buy from pretty little flower pot.
We can plant the flowers again and recreate our garden” with a faint smile.
When Radha raised a question of what she will do if the rat attacked again.
Her mother face became pale and left mouth tied.
This disturbed state of her always calm mother disturbed Radha.
So, she planned to create an eco-friendly flower pot which a rat cannot attack.
Radha crafted many hanging baskets and flower pots using old jeans pants, plastic water bottles, and old aluminium tin cans.
She also bought some tiny pots and painted it colourfully to make her mother happy.
Then she placed all the pots and cans in a manner to make their balcony look more beautiful than earlier.
She also placed mint plants on the corners to drive the mice away and she placed some instant potatoes which will reduce the rats effectively.
After doing all the arrangements, she blindfolded her mother and made her stand-in, in front of the balcony.
When Radha untied the blindfold, her mother saw the most beautiful view after a very long time.
The colours of various flowers and butterflies flying around the flower with sun setting made the scene more beautiful.
This made her plant-loving mother happier and her mother hugged Radha with love and proudness.
This was one of the times in her life where she felt more blessed.
